Spring Break

I'm officially on spring break so I can make a comeback with the blog! I have been busy busy busy and now I can just relax, well Jeff has already left me a list of yard work things to do! Not exactly how I was planning to spend my spring break! But here are some pics to recap what we have been up to.

We won the championships for football again! Three years in a row! So fun and awesome. Our coaches were quite thrilled and it wasn't even that close of a game! Go Mamas!
out celebrating after with one of his favorite girls, Taylor.

We had a little Family Pasta Night at Jamie and Dave's and Delainey was enthralled that she could see her face in my phone like a mirror and George and Uncle Babe. Jamie and I spent all afternoon using the silhouette making banners and prizes for parties coming up. So nice to have the machine to do it for us instead of spending 30 dollars on every banner off etsy!

Engagement Party for Chrys and Paige. It was good to see Dani.

We got to babysit D the other night and of course Aunt Kelli lets her do as she wishes! That is what Aunts are for. She is a monkey.

D and I spent the afternoon yesterday on a blanket and playing in the grass. It was to pretty to be inside. She loved it.

We have some fun things coming up one being Jeff's birthday party and Easter. I got lots to do! I am off to do some Easter Basket/birthday shopping for Jeffrey. He is the worst to buy for as he never wants anything. Have a great day!

For the Love of Customer Service!

Let me preface this small little rant that I 100% blame my father for me being this way.

But I expect and think every customer deserves good customer service. I do not think that the only place you should receive good service is when you are spending mega bucks! If you are selling something and you are serving me as the customer you need to get it together and show a little respect and effort!

I am definitely one of those people when someone does not follow through with what they say (cough a billiard store in town) and never get back to me on a anniversary present that was in January that I was trying to surprise my husband with. I will call your headquarters and talk to the head of the company to complain! Then the guy had the guts to lie to his boss but I was not about to have that so I called him out on the whole situation. Lazy man!

I mean we live in between three different publix grocery stores and no I would not shop anywhere else but Publix it drives my husband crazy. But for me to step into a walmart, food lion or winn dixie just doesn't happen all to often. Well when we moved I decided that I would try a different publix than I am use to and that lasted about two minutes because they were not friendly or helpful like my usual one! It is the little things that keep people coming back!

I completely embarrass Jeff so I never say anything in front of him, but I feel if you are a paying customer  then show me some good service and I will continue to come back and help you out! For instance outback we love to eat there but I got take out one night and got home and the order was all wrong and the steaks were like hockey pucks. I was not one happy camper because it is no where near our house. I called to speak to the manger in a nice way but just to let them know and what do you know I had gift cards in my mailbox a few days later! Now that is what I am talking about!

Word to the wise customer service will you get you far with a lot of people! It is the little things that count! I will pay more money to go to someone who cares and is attentive to me as a customer than get a good deal from a guy who has yet to call me back!

Snippets from the Weekend

We had a pretty relaxing weekend with nothing to overly exciting!

Friday night we had our last regular season football game and won. Wasn't the prettiest game we played but we came out with a W. The coach for the other team was a complete a$$ which just blows my mind how much people honestly hate us because they cant beat us or maybe it is because we are all young and blond and not 300 pounds that resemble a man. I will go with the latter to make us feel good about ourselves.  Jeff gets a little excited on the side line which I understand because listening to this coach blab on about nothing was irritating. But he becomes a smart allelic ( sure can't wait for my kids to inherit that trait lucky me!) and I try to give him the eyes from the field to the side line like CUT IT OUT! doesn't really work because he makes me look like I'm the crazy one. Funny how that works out. But we had yet another undefeated season and are going into the playoffs as #1 so we don't have to play till Sunday. Way to go Mamas!

Saturday I picked up my friend Kerry's daughter, Ryan who is 9. She is an absolute riot and just cracks me up. I feel like I am talking to a grown up friend when I hang out with her so I really enjoying spending time with her. She really wants to be involved in planning her mom's baby shower. So we made our first stop at hobby lobby and was shopping around for paper goods, frames, wooden letters, paint etc. She kept saying to herself oh man I love this place! Oh how about we use these feather boas for this or we can use this little dolls hats etc. I mean everything we saw she had a place she could put it at the shower! We then stopped to get Jeff's invites printed at Kinkos this girl was completely overwhelmed and didn't even do the invites right but Ryan and I were waiting for quite some time so we didn't care. We both walked out of the store and Ryan goes she was interesting! Couldn't have said it better myself! So we went to lunch at Chilis went through pictures and all the ideas of the shower. Then we went and picked up a little something something for her mom and went to a few more stores. It was a great day and I love spending time with her. Makes me get my fix of having kids since we aren't quite ready for our own yet! That night we had a little cook out with my sister, dave, and delainey  at their house and just relaxed!

Well if you haven't jumped on the bandwagon about Emi-Jay hair ties you should! There are $11 dollars for a set of 5. They have solid, prints and they are good for your hair so you don't rip your hair out! I purchased a few from a boutique in San Marco the other day and I love them! I am thinking of ordering some more fun patterns!

Well I think I am getting spring fever! I am ready to have a tan and not glow in the dark any longer! I am dying to go get on the boat and just tan and wear a cute summer dress instead of wearing layers! I am tired of all my little kids sneezing and coughing and getting sick because of the drastic weather changes. I myself started getting a little something something and now I have passed it onto Jeff so we are constantly coughing up a lung which limits our sleep (not  good for me) I am so exhausted and weak feeling so the gym has been pretty much nonexistent to me the past week or so and I feel BLAH!
But to brighten my day

It officially is the 4th quarter at school after tomorrow!
Spring Break is in 3 weeks! woo Hoo! (no plans but I'm working on it)
Easter is coming up!
Jeff's & Delainey's birthday are right around the corner!
All the cute spring clothes are hitting the racks.
Sure makes my frown turn upside down ( this is what happens when you hang out with 7 & 8 year olds for majority of your time)

Hodge Podge

I feel like I have so much on my plate, but I tend to do it to myself so I am to blame. I take on quite a bit at school with my kiddos but it is worth it to see them having fun learning. Of course I recently decided to get back to being healthy and I am trying to cut out yeast! Now not completely because I do love my corona light after a football game or on a Saturday afternoon. But I have been doing pretty good! I have  had spaghetti squash with turkey meatball, lettuce wraps with turkey and veggies. Egg whites for breakfast and I have lost weight already in just a couple days! Hopefully I can keep it up. I know on the weekend will be the hardest as we eat out or hang with friends to have some drinks! I am going to try to just work out more so it will compensate for those couple drinks! Jeff hasn't been all to thrilled about the food I have been making lately. It is a lot of work to prepare my lunches and breakfast as I normally just grabbed a fiber one bar and a lean cuisine and called it a day. I now have to cook my meal and make something Jeff will eat as well! Being healthy is way to much work if you ask me, but worth it when you see some results I suppose.

So on top of that I am also in the midst of planning Jeff's beer olympics party which is not going to be to detailed and it is almost a month away yikes!! We are finalizing the menu with On the Fly food truck which Jeff just raves about! Deposit is paid and that is booked!

All I really need to do is decide on all the games, get some kegs, cups, and a cake. I didn't want it to be to detailed. I just finished doing the invitations with Laura who I have used for previous invitations. She is so quick and great to work with. I told her exactly what I wanted and in a day it was in my inbox. Here's a little sneak peak of the picture on the top of it.....

All of the lots have sold around our house! Three across the street are about to go up and then one right next door. I will be happy once all the building is done! But we have been wanting to make our backyard which is on a down slope into a patio with brick pavers and put a little fire pit out there in the corner, but just keep pushing it off. When we saw that SOLD sign the other day we said we better get to it. We figured it will be way easier for them to bring in all the dirt to level off our back yard and build it without tearing up our side yard and grass. So I have been contacting multiple companies and have lots of appointments set up to get some estimates. Fingers crossed this doesn't cost an arm and a leg! I know Jeff all to well and if it is more than the number he has in his head it will not be happening!
I really like this back patio! I don't think we need a retaining wall all the way around but maybe a small one around the fire pit for sitting! We will have to wait and see what these guys have to say.

I am obsessed with pergolas and it is even on my 30 for 30 to get one! What would be better for parties and to hang stuff. I tried to talk Jeff into getting one as well but he said yea right I have to wait a little while to get one! I bet my brother in law honestly could make one he is like Bob Villa, but I will be patient.

We are getting our gutters put in next week before spring and those rain shower comes! It has already done a toll on our grass in the backyard not having them so we just picked out colors! I just feel busy as all get out but in a good way!

Ski Trip Recap

Breckenridge was absolutely beautiful! Definitely amazing to see as I have never been out to Colorado before! It was beyond freezing and I am thankful for my friend Leslie who had all the ski essentials! It definitely isn't about what you look like it is about staying warm! Skiing took a lot of muscle and was hard work, but we seemed to get a hang of it pretty quickly! I only fell once which was on purpose because I was flying down the mountain and knew I probably couldn't stop myself going that fast so I turned and fell. My sister had been before and I sort of stayed with her as she walked me through it. The most terrifying part was getting off the lift to me. The people would get off the lift and then just stand there. I'm like seriously get out of the way or I will be running into you!  There were 14 of us and 9 of us got sick for one day so that wasn't the best we think due to the altitude and being extremely dehydrated, but we were blessed enough to have a HUGE house to accommodate all of us being sick. The house was absolutely amazing. It was three stories with an amazing basement! Jeff and I lucked out and got a room downstairs right by the theatre room, game room, and bar! =) I could definitely get use to living there! It just so happened the house is on the market currently for 2.1 million. We will get right on buying that! HA!. Jeff and I learned that we are more beach people and rather be by the water with a tropical drink in hand. But it was a great experience and good time and memories with our family. Here are a bunch of pictures to recap our trip! =)

most delicious fresh margaritas! definitely had one to many possibly resulting in me getting extra dehydrated!

Baby Shower Time!

So my friend Leslie and I are in charge of throwing our lovely friend Kerry a baby shower! She is on baby 3, but baby three wasn't planned completely and she got rid of all of her baby stuff a few years ago. So she really is in need of getting all of the basics back! She is going to have a sweet little girl! We are still waiting to hear the name! (which I'm hounding her about for monogram purposes for shower details) She is due in June so we have a few months to get the ball rolling on her shower. But due to my planning and OCD you know I have already started my lists of thing to do. She has decided on the nursery colors which are going to be white, grey, and yellow with a touch of owls here or there so my mind has started working and here is my inspiration thus far! I can't show everything as I am sure she will read my blog, so the good ideas are not going up!

Going to the Chapel

When you say the word wedding I jump. Nothing gets me more excited than weddings, decorations and fun times with friends. Ashley and Carlton were planned to get married in November but had a small mishap with their reception venue going bankrupt so they pushed it back to February which just so happened to be my brothers birthday! Happy Birthday Tony!
It was a beautiful day and at a beautiful venue the Cummer Art museum. A little chilly out on the river but we couldn't be happier for them. It is always fun when one of our friends gets married because it is like a small high school reunion. We drank, ate, and danced the night away! Here are the few pictures that I took of the wedding...

We crammed so many people in George's truck as we only had a two minutes drive. it was hysterical to see all these huge men sitting on each others lap in the front. The pictures just don't do it justice.

This is how the night ended!

We all stayed at a hotel downtown and we shared a room with Allie and B. I didn't get much sleep so two naps and going to bed at 9:30 were exactly what happened for me yesterday! My to do list is miles long as we are heading to Breckenridge on Thursday. So laundry is my top priority so we have plenty of warm clothes for this freezing weather that we are about to step into!
I have to say I am looking forward to going! There will be 15 of us all staying in one big mansion so it should be pretty fun! I am more excited to see the house than anything! Fingers crossed no broken bones. But I will make sure to take lots of pictures to share when we get back! I'm off to do laundry and cook chicken pot pie for Jeffrey!

Family Matters

It sure if a good thing I love my family and Jeff's as much as I do! Of course I have been teaching at the same school at my mom for a couple of years now! I have to admit it is nice to go into her small little fridge and always have a diet coke for me when I need it! We don't see each other to much since Im with little 2nd graders and she is 5th so our schedules don't really overlap. But to make it a little bit more family style at our school they just hired my mother-in-law to work as an aide there. They moved back from Lake City and I had her come start subbing at my school while she was looking for a job. They kept her busy and an aide job opened up so she took it! So now I work with both of my moms =) Only downfall when I have kids of my own my babysitters are with me at work! Also my sister comes up to our school a couple days in the afternoon to tutor some of our students so everyone knows Jamie and Delainey as well! It is a big family party at our school! Can't complain to much as it is nice to be with my family all the time!

Workout Wednesday!

Jeff and I have been on the work out kick! I normally go to the gym and go 30 min-1hr cardio after school but once Jeff got home last night he said want to work out and I said what the heck. He started showing me the exercises he did in college for football! Holy moly was it hard! He would get on the treadmill and run on a straight up incline for two minutes while I did the push ups, squats, lunges whatever he told me to and then we would switch and I would run and he would do the next set. It doesn't sound very challenging but we were both sweating like crazy after an hour of doing this! And both of our legs are sore. Nothing like blasting loud music when you work out so I am sure our neighbors weren't to thrilled with it blaring at 8:45 at night. It finally has come time to replace my tennis shoes i have been needing to for so long but every time I work out my feet killed so I went and picked up a pair today!

I also scooped up some cute and comfy work out clothes the other day! Lululemon is amazing and so comfortable yet cute!

There are so many more things on my wish list! maybe for valentines I can snag a few more things because they are so comfortable.  I am off to football practice for the Mama's!
